In Thessaloniki, capital of the Northern Greece, the international art fair will be realised for the second time.
Last year, works by the conceptual artist and photographer Heinz Günter Mebusch were shown in cooperation with the OSTRALE. Now an icon of the Fluxus-movement: Wolf Vostell, will be honoured with in a museum show. His art has long been much appreciated in Greece.
The fair has started not only a as a global art market place, but also as a mediator within in the north-south differences and especially between Europe and the oriental cultures.

Works by the music photo legend George DuBose are shown at the EXTRAVAGANZZA in Toulouse as part of a group show.
The exhibition revives the eccentric lifestyle of the 1970s and 1980s.
The exhibition EXTRAVAGANZZA unites 60 works by the most important photographers on rock and pop culture.

Wolfgang Tillmann’s exhibition on the 200th anniversary of the Kunstverein Hamburg is celebrated with great media interest.
The exhibition at the Klosterwall forms the end and the highlight of the celebrations of the largest and oldest art association in Germany.
The exhibition will be open until 12 November 2017.
Wolfgang Tillmans shows his talent as a crossover artist also with his visual album ‚That’s Desire‘. Directed and photographed by Wolfgang Tillmans, this 27 minutes film features performances by Hari Nef, Karis Wilde, Ash B., Matthew Salinas, Bashir Daviid Naim, Rachel Guest, Christopher Olszewski and himself as well as band members Juan Pablo Echeverri, Jay Pluck, Kyle Combs, Tom Roach and Daniel Pearce.
Participants danced and improvised in Los Angeles and New York to the music, without previously knowing it. Whilst editing the footage with Michael Amstad in Berlin, it became clear, that what was planned to be cut into six individual videos, should not be separated, but should remain as a consecutive sequence of six different moods.
OSTRALE Biennale in Dresden ends on 01 October 2017 with almost 30,000 visitors (2015: approx. 20.000, 2016: approx. 25.000).
2017-18 parts of the OSTRALE will be exhibited in Malta by invitation of the city of Valletta, cultural European capital 2018.
The next OSTRALE Biennale is expected to return to Dresden in 2019, supported again by the Winter Foundation. Hamburg.
